What is Falling Walls Lab?
Since 2009, the annual Falling Walls competition has brought together innovators and researchers from diverse fields to showcase their groundbreaking ideas and projects. Participants have the opportunity to present their innovations to a distinguished panel of experts, investors, and thought leaders, with the goal of breaking down the walls that exist in science, technology, and society.
The premise of the competition is straightforward: participants present their science breakthrough in just three minutes in a way that is accessible to specialists and non-specialists alike. The KAUST Falling Walls Lab competition takes place in September every year with the winner then going on to represent our University at the final held every November in Berlin, Germany.
Participating in Falling Walls Lab offers contestants unique opportunities to network with science collaborators and professionals from around the world, give exposure to their research on a prestigious global platform, and hone invaluable presentation and communication skills.
