The English Language and Communication Program provides a range of courses and workshops throughout the year to help develop and enhance students' advanced academic English language and scientific communication skills.
These courses and workshops offer practical instruction and guidance across all areas of English language communication, equipping students with the relevant language competence and skills to more confidently and effectively undertake the required study and research tasks at a postgraduate level university.
In addition to optional enrolment, MS/PhD students who have a lower language entry-proficiency level (below IELTS 7.0/TOEFL 90 or equivalent) are required to take a mandatory, credit-bearing language course which should be completed within a student's first year at KAUST and ideally during the first semester of a student’s arrival on campus. For students on the PG Diploma program, embedded ELCP modules also form part of their academic program pathway.
