Our word this week is a regular, transitive verb:

DEMONSTRATE

Pronunciation /ˈdemənstreɪt/

DEMONSTRATE means:

  1. To show something clearly by giving evidence or proof.
  2. To show or describe how to do something or how something works.

Example sentences:

  1. New research convincingly demonstrates that age-related memory loss is not inevitable.
  2. The chemistry teacher first demonstrated the experiment before the pupils did it themselves.

The noun form of the verb DEMONSTRATE is ‘demonstration’.
